# How to download a data template to update sites in your current model

## Quickly create a data template you can use to import additional sites

**Note:** This article only applies to users who conduct their own model builds. Please contact your support rep if you need assistance.

### Formatting the data template and adding updated data

Export the current project's data sheet, clear the current data, and add the updated information once the template is ready.

1. Open the project you want to create a data template for.
2. Select "Import Sites" from the Main Menu.
3. Select "Download."
4. Open the downloaded CSV file to view the data sheet for the project.
5. Select all of the rows in the sheet except the first one.
6. Delete these selected rows.
7. Save the CSV file as a new document.
8. Input the additional data to be imported. Each row represents a single location.

**Warning:** Make sure the new data you're uploading is within the bounds of your current data attributes and that your additional data is consistent with the existing format. Refer to your original project export file if needed.

### Importing the updated data to the current project

1. Open the project.
2. Select "Import Sites" from the Main Menu.
3. Select "Upload."
4. Select "File: None Selected — Browse."
5. Locate and select the CSV file you want to upload.
6. If the file has finished processing without error, select "Finish."
